It depends on your primary use. The 6.4L HEMI® V8 offers fantastic horsepower and capability for a lower initial cost. The 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel is the king of torque, making it the superior choice for frequent, heavy towing, especially up steep grades. It also provides better fuel economy under load.
For most conventional trailers, boats, and many fifth-wheels, the Ram 2500 offers more than enough towing capacity. You should step up to a Ram 3500, particularly a dually (DRW) model, when you are consistently towing extremely heavy gooseneck or fifth-wheel trailers, such as large horse trailers or massive toy haulers.
The Power Wagon® is a specialized, hardcore off-roader with unique features like a factory WARN® Winch, electronic locking front and rear differentials, and a disconnecting front sway bar for maximum articulation. The Rebel® is a highly capable all-around off-road truck that is also available with the Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine, an option not available on the Power Wagon.
