The truck's base model has a 6.4-liter V-8 gasoline engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. At 5,600 RPM, this engine develops 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, distributed to the axles, depending on the option you choose. A 6.7-liter turbocharged inline-6 standard diesel engine and a 6.7-liter turbocharged inline-6 high-output diesel engine are also available for the Ram 3500 in 2022. The first has 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, while the second has 420 horsepower and 1,075 pound-feet.
